My cell phone is hands down the most important gadget in my life. It’s my means of communication with family and friends, my personal notebook, calendar, the place I catch up on news…or my favorite tv shows and probably my favorite thing (outside of it just being a telephone) is the camera. I’ve always been that person that loves documenting everything! I had a film camera by age 12, the first to have a digital camera when they came out, so of course, I love that now phones act as our cameras. I’ve still got my big cannon 5G but the point and shoot cameras that you take with you to capture life’s little moments when they happen, seem to be too cumbersome to lug around with a phone. Especially when you want to share that picture immediately with friends and family. So, of course, I love that our cell phones now come with incredible cameras. It seems that nowadays, that’s one of the biggest selling points when it comes to phones.
So naturally, when I got the opportunity to try out the new Sony Xperia XZ Premium phone, I was super excited because of all the amazing camera features! It was super easy to set up, it even asked me which device I had been using previously to help me get set up! Then I dived into the tutorials that came with the phone and I have to say, I loved this! I think my biggest intimidation to switch to a new phone is the learning curve that comes with it. I am definitely a creature of habit and it feels good to stick with what you know but I have to say the Sony Xperia XZ Premium was really easy to learn and use right out of the box.
Naturally one of the first things I wanted to try out was the incredible 19MP camera! The camera has the world’s first Motion Eye camera system with Predictive Capture to help you get just the right shot. The imaging sensor predicts movement to keep your subjects It also has a Super Slow Motion Camera which allows you to chose when the camera starts to record in slow motion just by tapping the screen.
The phone has a 4K HDR Display, which is the first of its kind in a smartphone, which makes all the images and video seem crystal clear. I can’t tell you how incredible the display is, it feels like I’m watching my TV!
My favorite features of the phone are the AR effect under camera apps which allows you to put scenes in your pictures or videos. Needless to say Nash LOVED this feature. We played for over an hour with just the dinosaur scene alone. He loved standing in our kitchen and creating a whole scene from Jurassic Park. There’s an underwater scene, a fairytale scene, a comic book one plus a ton more. Trust me, these features alone make this phone so cool!
