Just Jenn

Jenn Brown is a 2 x Emmy Award Winning Broadcaster, Producer and Journalist and has worked in the television industry for over 20 years.  She is best known as the first female correspondent for Inside the NFL, a former host & reporter for ESPN, and host of American Ninja Warrior. Jenn is well known health and wellness advocate, having worked with some of the top health brands over her career. Jenn has enjoyed sharing her family’s health journey over the years, being featured in magazines as well as guest appearances on health shows, such as Doctor Oz.  

Most recently Jenn executive produced and narrated two Audio Documentaries for Amazon’s Audible Platform. Breaking Justice, The Cain Velasquez Story debuted in December of 2022 and her new project, Next Level, From College to the Pros Featuring Brian Branch debuts September 2023.

Before moving into the documentary filming space, Jenn spent 5 years as the Host for Bellator MMA on Showtime sports.  Prior to Bellator, for 3 years Jenn simultaneously worked as a weekly studio host and reporter for both the NFL Network and the UFC.  For the NFL Network, Jenn hosted A Football Life Backstory, NFL Total Access, Path to the Draft, as well as the NFL Honors Red Carpet Show.  Prior to working with NFL Network, Brown spent 8 years as a reporter and host for ESPN.  She was the sideline reporter for ESPN’s Primetime Thursday Night and Saturday Afternoon College Football Games, as well as a feature reporter for ESPN’s College Game Day. She also served as a host and reporter for the College World Series, Little League World Series, Summer and Winter X Games, ESPYS, NFL Draft, and College football’s National Signing Day.  Jenn was a Los Angeles based Bureau reporter for ESPN contributing interviews and reports for ESPN’s news-gathering operation for SportsCenter, College GameDay and College  Football Live.  She also co-hosted ESPN’s popular college football show, RoadTrip, which covered the biggest college football and basketball rivalry games throughout the year.

Early Career

Before ESPN, Jenn worked for Showtime Sports as the first ever female correspondent on Inside the NFL. She contributed special interest features on players as well as provided coverage of the Super Bowl and International Game.  It was at Showtime and CBS that Jenn got her first job covering MMA where she served as a feature and live event reporter for Strikeforce.  Jenn also contributed as a reporter for Showtime’s boxing programming at that time as well.

In the summer of 2009, Jenn co-hosted ABC’s prime-time show The Superstars where athletes and celebrities paired up and competed against each other in various sport competitions.  In 2008, Jenn was a host at E! Entertainment working on their daily online news show E! News Now. She also appeared as an entertainment correspondent on CNN’s Showbiz Tonight and Chelsea Lately.

In 2004, Jenn got her start in television by hosting and producing travel shows for Bennett Group and HDNet. For three-and-a-half years she traveled to over 25 countries, taking viewers along on her many bold and electrifying adventures.

Philanthropist

Jenn has an active presence in many charitable organizations because she believes that it is important to give back to your community and help those that are less fortunate.  Jenn, along with her mother, created the Carrie Brown Foundation.  The Carrie Brown Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization created in memory of Jenn’s younger sister Carrie who was tragically killed in a car accident in 2000.  The foundation was created to continue Carrie’s spirit of giving, with all proceeds going towards less fortunate children through scholarships and grants.

Jenn also serves as a board member for KIDS in The GAME.  KIDS In The GAME is 501c3 nonprofit organization focused on inspiring kids to thrive in life through sports. It provides financial assistance to help youth from low-income families of all abilities gain access to after school sports programs and physical education programs in schools. KIDS in The GAME raises awareness of the importance of athletics in developing future leaders, with skills and values that transfer from the sports field into the classroom, workplace, family and community.

NCAA & High School

Jenn attended the University of Florida on a full academic scholarship and played four years on the Florida Gator softball team. Making the team as a freshman walk-on and winding up its senior captain, she graduated 3rd all-time in career stolen bases.

Jenn received several academic honors while at the University of Florida. She graduated Summa Cum Laude (with highest honors), was an active member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee as well as a member of the Florida Blue Key. She was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Academic All-American team, CoSIDA Academic All-District team,  she was a four time SEC Academic Honor Roll, a member of the National Society of Collegiate Honors, and was a two time academic President’s List and  two time academic Dean’s List.  Jenn served on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee for 2 years and during her sophomore year she created a mentoring program to help teenage girls in foster care.

Jenn graduated with a degree in Criminology with a focus in Sports Management.  She applied to 17 law schools with the intention of becoming a sports agent but was offered a job to host a travel show.  Jenn packed her bags and moved to Los Angeles, and the rest they say is history!  To this day Jenn has still not opened any of her acceptance letters from the 17 law schools she applied to as they sit in a drawer in her bedroom of her mother’s home in Orlando.

On October 14th, 2010 Jenn was inducted into Bishop Moore High School’s Athletic Hall of Fame.  While in High School Jenn broke her high school’s record by earning the most varsity letters (14), by a male or female athlete all while playing 7 sports,   As a softball all-star, a Junior Olympic diver and a track and field superstar, her love for the game ultimately resulted in her breaking her high school’s record by earning the most varsity letters (14), by a male or female ahtlete while playing 7 sports in high school.  She captained and played 5 sports in one year (diving, volleyball, basketball, softball and track & field) and was also chosen as one of the top 10 Athletes in Central Florida her senior year.
