Filter your Kids Content & Manage Screen Time using Circle with Disney

June 17, 2017 By jennbrown

I remember when I was a kid growing up, we got our first family computer when I was 12.  I remember it had a DOS Shell operating system and it sat in our dining room and the only games I could play on it was solitaire and mahjong. I was the first of my friends to get a computer (I guess my Mom was a techie too) and it was so cool!  Today, kids have all kinds of electronic devices at their disposal.  Tablets, smartphones, computers…I mean my 2 1/2-year-old has his own iPad, and frankly, at times, I feel like he can operate it better than me.
With kids on devices more and more these days, I feel like it’s really important to limit how much time they can spend watching shows, playing games, or surfing the internet.  I’ve run into this problem already with Nash and his iPad.  While we initially got it to use mostly for on the airplanes when we travel, I’ve found myself allowing him to use it more and more at home and once he’s on it, it’s super hard to take it away without him having a meltdown.  So needless to say when I found out about Circle with Disney I was super excited to set it up and try it out.
Circle with Disney allows you to manage all of your home’s connected devices.  Circle with Disney is a tool that helps parents stay informed about their kid’s online activities and limit screen time on every device in the home, including smartphones, tablets, computers, and gaming consoles. Circle with Disney pairs with home Wi-Fi and gives parents the ability to filter content, set a bedtime for devices, and even completely pause the Internet. Each user’s profile and settings can be completely customized based on age and parents preferences.
Setup was super simple, you download the app on your phone, plug in Circle and follow the simple steps on your phone to connect it to your home’s wifi.  It took me a total of 5 minutes to set the entire thing up and create an account for Nash.

They have very simple instructions on each screen to walk you through the entire process.
Once I created an account, I was able to customize the settings for Nash. I  was able to set a time at night with the BedTime Feature so the device turns off at the same time every night.  I was also able to set a time limit that he can use the device each day and it also allows you to pause the internet if you need to.  I love Circle Go, which allows the settings you create at home to follow the device where ever it goes over cell service and WIFI.  I also loved the insights setting which lets you know where your kids spend most of their time.  If you want to check out Circle with Disney click HERE to get one through Best Buy!

Here are some of my favorite features explained:

Time Limits:
Screen time is very important to kids and for parents who manage it. Time Limits offers the ability to limit daily screen time for platforms, apps, and categories, painlessly.
 BedTime:
With Circle’s BedTime feature, no more asking every night for kids to get off their devices.
When BedTime kicks in devices say goodnight all on their own.
Filter:
Set individual filter levels for each family member that matches their age and interests. Do it once and it will apply to every one of their devices.
Insights:
Circle Insights gives you the ability to compare time online today, last week, or even last month. Per site or by interest. You can even find out where you waste time the most.
Pause:
Yes, you actually get a pause button for the internet. Pause one of your kids because it’s time for homework or everyone because it’s game night. Either way, Circle has your back.
 Circle Go:
Ever wish you could manage your kids’ devices wherever they went? Circle Go makes it possible. Circle Go takes all of the settings your kids’ devices have at home and extends them to 4G LTE and any other Wi-Fi network they join.
